Learning Objectives

Program
The course is 6 credits, corresponding to 36 hours of lessons. It is divided into two-two hours lessons per week.The duration of the course is 18 weeks
The program of the course develop three research areas in epistemology and methods of research quantitative, qualitative and quanti/qualitative (mixed or blended methods).the course intends to provide basic and specialistic knowledge to the planning, construction, administration and analysis of the interviews and questionnaires with particular reference to the most widespread formats and tecniques in psychological and psychosocial research.The main characteristics, advantages and limitation of each tool and related techniques will be outlined. Starting from the premises the theoretical and epistemic premises the theaching proposal aims to offer a practical declination that allows you to build, somminister and critically analyze different types of questions, with particular attention to possible distortions, their sequence and their formulation. The course is centered on active teaching that alternates the presentation of theoretical aspects and practical exercises, individual and group work in the classroom and at home.

The student must shows to get:
- Knowledge and understanding: understanding of the methodological principles and data collection tools of scientific research in psychology and, in particular, research in social psychology.
- Applying knowledge and understanding: acquisition and development of the ability to design a research protocol and to interpret the results obtained.
- Making judgements: acquisition and development of the ability to use knowledge and methodological concepts for the evaluation and description of a research design.
- Communication skill: acquisition of specific language for the description of research protocols.
- Learning skills: Upon completion of the course, students will have acquired good autonomy in selecting the most suitable tools for structuring a research design.

The final exam consists of a written test. The test consists of three open-ended questions; There is an hour of time available for its completion.
The evaluation and grade attribution criteria for the test carried out are:
less than 18: insufficient level of competence. The candidate does not achieve any of the learning outcomes foreseen in the point "knowledge and understanding”.
18-20: sufficient level of competence. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes foreseen in the point "knowledge and understanding.
21-23: fully sufficient level of competence. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes set out in the points "knowledge and understanding" and "applied knowledge and understanding.
24-26: good level of competence. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes set out in the "knowledge and understanding" points; "applied knowledge and understanding" and "independence of judgement
27-29: very good level of competence. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes set out in the points "knowledge and understanding", "applied knowledge and understanding", "independence of judgement" and "communication skills”
30 and 30 cum laude: excellent level of competence. The candidate fully achieves the learning outcomes set out in the "knowledge and understanding" points; "applied knowledge and understanding"; "independence of judgement"; "communication skills" and "ability to learn”
