Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide the students with the theoretical knowledge and technical/practical skills regarding the evaluation methods and techniques of the various fitness components using the Eurofi test battery (European Test of Physical Fitness, approved by the Council of Europe, 1988) and other field tests used to evaluate "fitness" levels. The Eurofit tests are a battery of tests based on the principles of "Sport for all" and which answered the need to assess the physical fitness of European students by establishing standardized, comparable, and usable evaluation parameters in most situations. Furthermore, the internship has the objective of providing the student with the knowledge and ability to understand its applications in the sports setting, starting from the theoretical bases to interpretation of the obtained scores and their practical applications. In fact, the internship aims to give the student the theoretical and-practical tools to perform a functional evaluation, following the theoretical principles of functional evaluation and using the Eurofit test battery or other field tests.
Program
Exercise testing principles 0,5 CFU
EUROFIT tests used to assess physical fitness levels, theory and practice 1 CFU
Eurofit scores elaboration, evaluation of the athlete's profile (profiling), comparison with the reference benchmarks (benchmarking) 0.5
Additional field tests used for physical fitness assessment 0.75
Field test scores elaboration, evaluation of the athlete's profile (profiling), comparison with the reference benchmarks (benchmarking) 0.25
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Knowledge and understanding
The student will need to acquire the knowledge of the key features of the functional assessment tests
Applying knowledge and understanding
The student will need to know the problems that may arise during the administration, registration and processing of the test data for the assessment of abilities and skills
Making judgments
The student will have to demonstrate that he is able to use the measuring instruments correctly and to be able to choose the appropriate tests for the information they want to gather
Communication skills
Knowing how to communicate clearly and effectively, both with specialists and non-specialists, the acquired knowledge and its practical application in different settings
Learning skills
Knowing how to stay up to date on the field tests used in functional evaluation through a professional and scientific approach
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
Some of the instruments that are physically within the laboratory in which the practice lessons will be held will be used in simulated assessments with the aim to provide the student with the possibility to either be tested or be the tester.
- Innovative teaching methods
Problem-based learning
Flipped classroom
Learning by doing
- Attendance
Minimum mandatory attendance: 2/3 of total practice lessons. As for the practical activities, attendance is intended as the active participation in the lesson.
- Assessment
Formative and summative assessment will be performed by means of practical examinations and written reports.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
Additional Information for Non-Attending Students
