Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge of the concepts and methods related to the knowledge of the network, the software programming and the ability to use and create tools for the realization of programs either stand-alone or within Microsoft Office applications with particular regard to the Excel package.
Program
The program is structured as follows:
1. OFFICE AT ECDL ADVANCED LEVEL
Advanced usage of the platform Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) with particular reference to instruments Excel and Access;
2. SQL LANGUAGE FOR DATABASE
Structure of the language. All Query types, select, append, edit, delete etc.;
3. INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING
Macro in Excel and Access. Functional programming for objects;
4. THEORETICAL PROGRAMMING
Algorithms. Theoretical solution of problems. Semantics;
5. PROGRAMMING With VB, VBA, ASP.
Development environment, structure of a VB project, language elements, construction of sample programs "stand alone" and fill them in. Language extension with additional components. Access to external databases. The Excel and Word object model. Creation of applications within Excel and Word. Interface to Access databases;
6. INTEGRATION OF DATA PROCESSING SOFTWARE
Reading and writing to a Database from leading OFFICE products in an integrated manner, including the web part through ODBC.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
- Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the students must have acquired knowledge and understanding of the issues developed in the classroom. In particular they must know and understand the functioning of the network, services and programming. Didactic working methods by which such results will be achieved will consist of: lectures, laboratory exercises and home and workshops.
- Knowledge and understanding: students must be able to apply the knowledge gained in an appropriate way and flexible to analyze, understand and solve problems both analytical method. Didactic working methods by which such results will be achieved will consist of: lectures, analysis and discussion on some topics, exercises and seminars.
- Autonomy of judgement: students must have the ability to hook into integrated schemes and Unitarian knowledge acquired during the course and to confront complex problems independently and with its own judgement. Didactic working methods by which such results will be achieved will consist of: lectures, analysis and discussion of some issues, in-depth exercises.
- Communication skills: students must acquire an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, thanks to a good mastery of the vocabulary related to the topics covered during the course. Didactic working methods by which such results will be achieved will consist of: lectures and elaborate display.
- Ability to learn: students must have developed good learning skills, which enable them to deepen the knowledge acquired during the course and to put them into practice by developing models. Didactic working methods by which such results will be achieved will consist of: lectures, laboratory exercises and home, work groups and workshops, elaborate production.

Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
The course includes the use of different didactic methods:
- Lectures;
- Laboratory exercises at the Computing Center of Department DESP;
- Tutorials at home;
- Development of themes proposed by students;
- Educational seminars on particular topics of interest.

- Assessment
The examination consists of a practical test in the laboratory in which shows the scores for each correct answer:
- The scores will be identified in the range 0-30;
- The test duration is two hours;
- Will be passed the test with a score > = 18;
- You can still support the oral to achieve eligibility for those students who have achieved a score > = 15 in the written test.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Notes
The student can request to sit the final exam in english.
