Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. - Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione: (knowledge and understanding) At the end of the course the students must demonstrate to have acquired the knowledge of the English vocabulary presented in class and its use. This will be carried out through lectures, group work, written assignments, discussions and listening activities.

- Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate: the students must demonstrate to be able to apply their knowledge both for written and spoken English. This will be carried out through lectures, group work, written assignments, discussions and listening activities.

- Autonomia di giudizio: (making judgements) the students must be able to apply the knowledge acquired and to face different dynamics making their own judgements. This will be carried out through lectures, group work, written assignments, discussions and listening activities.

- Abilità comunicative: (communication skills) the students must demonstrate to be able to communicate effectively thanks to the vocabulary and structures learnt during the course.  This will be carried out through lectures, group work, written assignments, discussions and listening activities.

This course in an introduction to English through some listening activities of authentic conversations, videos and films, authentic readings and practice of writing skills.
