The mineralogical alteration as a tool in geothermal exploration. Vapor- and liquid- dominated geothermal systems. Generation of geothermal energy with conventional systems and with binary cycle systems (ORC). Low temperature geothermal through heat exchange with the subsoil (air conditioning with geothermal heat pumps): general principles. Direct uses of hot water (district heating). Environmental impacts. Regional geothermics: example of high enthalpy geothermal areas in Chile.
