Learning Objectives
The course aims to
- familiarise the students with the tradition fof Russian rasskaz
- test the Anglo-Saxon theories of the short story through their application to the Russian rasskaz
Program
The course aims to present the characteristics of the Russian short story. In particular, texts by Čechov (Dama s sobačkoj), Gor'kij (Pesnja o slepych), Andreev (Cristiane), Brjusov (Za sebja ili za druguju), Bunin (Grammatika ljubvi), Pil'njak (Ego Veličestvo Kneeb Piter Komandor), Babel' (Korol'), Zamjatin (Peščera).

- Assessment
The exam consists of 3 open-ended questions and it lasts 90 minutes.
In addition to the content, the evaluation will also specifically consider the students' ability of clearly, coherently, and effectively communicating and arguing for his own views.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Notes
Beginning from academic year 2014-15 the course lasts one academic year.
It is not true, as it is written above, that this is a 'Course with optional materials in a foreign language': the materials in foreign language will be compulsory for both attending and non-attending students. Unfortunately, the system does not allow for any other choice of materials (sic!).
