Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide the fundamental elements to design and manage a sporting event through the most modern management techniques. The course will also try to offer students mastery of tools and methodologies for effective planning, organization and promotion of an event both from a commercial and communicative perspective. The mechanisms that govern a correct interpretation of modern sports marketing will be investigated.
Program
1. Understanding the Fundamentals of Sports Event Management: Students will gain a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of organizing and managing sports events, including logistics, finance, legal, and marketing.
2. Planning and Coordination: Students will effectively plan a sports event, developing project management skills, time management, and coordination of human and material resources.
3. Budget Management: Another key objective is to teach how to create and manage a budget for a sports event, understanding the different sources of revenue and how to manage costs to maximize profits or meet a pre-established budget.
4. Legal and Regulatory Issues: The course will address legal and regulatory issues that affect sports events, such as contract management, image rights, and security.
5. Marketing and Communication: Students will develop skills in marketing and promoting sports events, including social media management, ticket sales, and media relations management.
6. Practical Experience: Practical experience opportunities will be provided through simulations related to the organization of events, allowing students to apply the skills learned in a didactic context.
7. Management of Stakeholder Relations: The methods of relating to all the subjects involved (athletes, sponsors, fans, media, local authorities) will be covered, ensuring that their needs are met and that the event takes place in the best possible way.
8. Evaluation and Analysis: Students will understand how to evaluate the success of a sporting event through the analysis of economic results, participant satisfaction, and media impact in a sustainable and efficient comparison.
