Learning Objectives
PROFICIENT USER C1
Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
Program
Reading Comprehension
The course will focus on a variety of reading texts taken from C1 level sources.
Readings will be taken from: textbooks, academic sources, newspapers, magazines, the internet, novels, fiction and nonfiction sources.
Writing
Four main types of writing will be taught and practiced.
Expository, descriptive, persuasive and narrative writing.
Reading and Writing topics include – Conservation – Design – The web and privacy – Business – Psychology- Careers – Health sciences – Collaboration – Technology – Language - and others.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the language assistant in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the language assistant specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
