Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
Frontal and seminar-style lectures
- Innovative teaching methods
In today's cultural context, dominated by contingent and ephemeral communication, the most innovative teaching method consists of encouraging students to read the suggested texts personally and carefully, repeating the process if necessary, in order to arrive at a critical understanding of them and acquire the ability to express their reflections on the subject in an argumentative manner.
- Attendance
Each attending student will be required to give a presentation on a text assigned by the lecturer.
- Course books
P. Italia - G. Raboni, Che cos'è la filologia d'autore, Roma, Carocci, 2010: capp. 1 e 2.
D. Isella, Le carte mescolate vecchie e nuove, Torino, Einaudi, 2009: Parte Prima: cap. 1.1; 1.2; 2.1; 2, 2; 2,3.
G. Contini, La critica degli scartafacci e altre pagine sparse, Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, 1992: cap. 1.
The texts for the study of Chekhov will be distributed during the lessons.
- Assessment
Presentation on a text assigned + Simplified critical edition of a Russian text + Oral examination
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
Additional Information for Non-Attending Students
- Teaching
Indipendent study
- Attendance
Each non-attending student must contact the lecturer to agree on the details of the examination programme.
Each non-attending student will be required to prepare a paper on a text assigned by the lecturer.

Notes
The course programme lasts one academic year.
Contrary to what is stated above, this is not a “course with optional foreign language materials”: foreign language materials will be compulsory for both attending and non-attending students. Unfortunately, the system does not allow for any other choice of materials (sic!).
