Learning Objectives

"Teaching Italian to foreigners" is a course that aims to train professionals specialized in teaching Italian as a second language / foreign language in Italy and abroad. The course provides theoretical-methodological skills in the glottodidactic and linguistic-cultural areas of expertise through internships and in-depth laboratories. The course also aims to offer tools for intercultural reflection, welcoming the migrant and the contrastive analysis of the different linguistic systems involved in the teaching process.

The teachers that the master intends to train are able to respond to the growing interest in Italian culture and language in the world and to the strong desire of the numerous Italian communities abroad to preserve and promote their linguistic and cultural roots. The possible employment opportunities of the master are: linguistic facilitators, linguistic-cultural consultants and teachers of Italian L2 for migrants, adults, adolescents and children in schools, local authorities, associations and organizations linked to the world of work; teachers, collaborators and linguistic and cultural experts of Italian L2 and Italian as Foreign Language in Italian schools for foreigners, Italian institutes of culture, universities and companies in Italy and abroad.

Didattica dell’italiano L2/LS e CLIL Didactics of Italian as a second and foreign language and CLIL (L-LIN/02) 8 CFU

Principi di analisi e metodologia testuale Principles of textual analysis and methodology (L-FIL-LET/12) 5 CFU

Laboratorio di scrittura e grammatica italiana Italian writing and grammar workshop (L-FIL-LET/12) 4 CFU

Alfabetizzazione all’italiano e interculturalità Language instruction for newcomers and intercultural education (M-DEA/01) 4 CFU

Laboratorio di didattica Didactic workshop (L-LIN/02) 4 CFU

Elementi di cultura cinese, araba, russa Elements of Cinese, Arabian and Russian culture (L-OR/21; L-OR/12; L-LIN/ 21) 6 CFU

Metodologia dell’analisi contrastiva Methodology of contrastive analysis (L-LIN/01) 10 CFU

Stage 4 CFU

Prova finale 2 CFU

TOTALE 1500 ore 60 CFU

The conferral of the certificate requires that the student is positively evaluated in each course taken and a final thesis consisting on a reflection thesis on the stage done.

Useful information

Access to the master is allowed to Italian and foreign citizens with a degree or equivalent qualification. 

Adequate knowledge of Italian language is required: C1 level certification according to the European Common Framework for Languages

Minimum number of students to activate the course: 12 students

You can apply from the 02/08/2021 to the 18/11/2021 . Using the online procedure you can register to fill in the application and pay with PagoPA (Credit Card, PayPal) to complete the payment of the admission fee.
