Learning Objectives
The course aims at familiarizing the students with the main basic knowledge about the rehabilitation project dedicated to the containment of disability of neurological origin and not to understand the mechanisms of determination and resolution of disability.
Program
1. Theoretical principles of functional recovery. Measuring scales.
2. Physiological bases of movement control. Clinical and instrumental estimation of posture and gait.
3. Approach to the Elder disabled. Role of physical exercise in prevention and control of tertiary damages. The management of degenerative joint disease. The management of the results after strokes and neurodegenerative diseases.
4. Rehabilitative approach to the post-traumatic disabilities: the recovery of shoulder and knee after sport injuries. The management of patients with the results of spinal cord injury. Physical rehabilitation through sport.
5. The management of patient with non-traumatic pathology of the spine: acute and chronic low back pain, scoliosis and scoliosis attitudes.
6. Principles of clinical neuropsychology and cognitive rehabilitation. Management of cognitive sequelae after head trauma: prognosis of recovery and social reintegration. Multidisciplinary management of the elderly with dementia.
7. Approach to disabled child with cognitive and motor deficits
