Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide a basic knowledge about the descriptive and normative
aspects of Spanish lexis. The main objective of the course is the knowledge of the
essential concepts of Semantics, the lexis functioning, and the development of a better
oral and written use of these parts.

- Assessment
The exam will be a written exam: students will be asked to answer questions about
theoretical questions: they will have to describe theoretical aspects developed during the
classes or described in the bibliography. For the practical part, students will be also asked
to apply the theoretical concepts to practical exercises.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
Additional Information for Non-Attending Students
- Attendance
Students unable to attend the classes will be asked to study the text Estudios de
lexicografía española, Madrid, Gredos, 2003, by Manuel Seco, in addition to the
bibliography above mentioned. The exam will be written.
Students are advised to contact the teacher in order to prepare to the exam.
