Learning Objectives
The main objective of the course is to make available to students the critical tools for understanding the basic problems of the history of the twentieth century, focusing in particular on the eighties through the latest historiographical acquisitions. This decade, which the mainstream culture of the mass media has reduced to the category of nostalgia, actually shows, according to research carried out in recent years, completely different features, and offers a variety of ideas regarding changes in both society and politics.
Program
The general part will be devoted to the analysis of the central themes of the history of the twentieth century, from the modernization that followed the Great War to the reformulation of new political and social arrangements following the end of the "short century". The monographic part will be devoted to a discussion of Italy in the eighties, of the social, economic, political and cultural changes: from the Moro murder (1978) to "clean hands" (1992).
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
