Training objectives

Goals: The course aims to provide students with:

● the theoretical and practical bases of geography in order to acquire a professionalism of environmental and territorial issues ;

● fundamental theoretical concepts of teaching of geography and cartography

Program

Program:

The geographical bases. Geography: spirit, purpose, method. The man and the climate. The man and the waters. The man and the soil. The man and the biological resources. Environment, land, landscape. Landscape and scenery: the development and affirmation of a fundamental concept and its applications. Geographical areas. Environmental and territorial planning.

Educational bases. Educational role of geography. Teaching and learning, space, culture, territory. Absolute space, relative space and geographical space, space and perception. Data and statistics in graphing and mapping. Reading and interpretation of maps. Analysis and synthesis in interpreting global class as a laboratory for research. Audits in progress.

In relation to the student discipline he will have to prove the possession of :

- Mastery of the knowledge of the discipline ;

- Understanding of the advanced concepts of the discipline ;

Frontal lessons

At the beginning of the course a questionnaire will be administered to assess the state of knowledge on the discipline. It provides for a second test in mid- course , and finally a final check .

Assessment methods: oral examination

The course aims to provide the theoretical and conceptual framework and methodologies needed spatial interpretation of socio - economic phenomena.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
