Learning Objectives
Training objectives
The course aims to provide the theoretical and conceptual framework as well as the necessary methodologies spatial interpretation of socio - economic phenomena.
Program
Interpretation and analysis of the territory. Reading social and geopolitical phenomena. Demographic and social mobility facilities. The city in its regional relations. Town and country. New cities and rural areas.
Framework of the human geography addresses : concepts , issues , problems , methods , tools. Development of social geography. Brief tour of the origins and study guidelines. The discipline theoretical references. Research topics of social geography in European schools ( French , German , English). Contribution to the debate of the Italian geographers . Methods and tools.
The image in geography and its cartographic representation : the map as a planning tool of terrestrial space . geo - quantitative information , geo - qualitative . The GIS and their use.

In relation to Social Geography students must show possession :
- The mastery of basic skills ;
- Understanding of the basic concepts of the discipline ;
- The ability to use knowledge and concepts to reason according to the logic of sustainable development

- Assessment
At the beginning of the course a questionnaire will be administered to assess the state of knowledge on the discipline. It provides for a second test in mid- course , and finally a final check .
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
