Learning Objectives
The goal of the course is to prepare students to understand how the world got to be the way it is today and the forces that govern its ongoing evolution.
The course goes beyond study of the formal relations between states - the traditional subject matter of diplomatic history - to address themes in social, cultural, and intellectual history.
Program
The course analyses the history of international relations in the twentieth century, giving specific attention to the period of the cold war. The course will also focus on 9/11 and its consequences for the international system.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Knowledge and understanding of the international system of the 20th Century, in particular the cold war and Onu.
Ability to apply the above knowledge and understanding to current international issues.
Ability to make judgements on the history of international relations in the 20th Century and to critically analyze current international dynamics,
Improvements of communication skills, both in written and oral form.
Improvement of learning skills.

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
