Learning Objectives

The course aims to broaden and deepen the basic linguistic knowledge in order to understand and process simple messages in written and oral form, about the surrounding environment (friends, travel, work ...).

Program

Program of the course of Arabic language II in English

Derived forms of the verb - doubled roots and verbs with hamzah - assimilated, hollow and defective verbs - the particle inna and her sisters - relative pronouns and relative clauses - the elative (comparative and superlative) - completion of the numerals - ??l clauses.

Bridging Courses

Students must have followed the first course of Arabic.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

- Knowledge and understanding: students will deepen the Arabic language structures and expand their vocabulary to understand simple texts on the surrounding environment (family, friends, work, shopping ...).

- Applied  knowledge and understanding: students will be able to read and understand simple texts and to write personal letters. They will understand and provide information and reservations in restaurant, hotel etc.

- Ability to discern: students will be able to develop and expand their knowledge, through greater relational capacity with texts and people.

- Communication skills: students will be able to communicate in Arabic different information on familiar topics and activities. They will participate in short conversations and describe their environment, lifestyle and studies. They will be able to tell what they habitually do and what they have done in the past.

- Learning skills: during the course students will learn a method of study that allow them to explore and make progress in writing and oral comprehension of the language. They will be able to take simple notes and write personal messages.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

In addition to the texts listed below, any other material (photocopies, links ...) will be provided or indicated during the course and distributed to attendees and non-attendees students.

Oral and written examinations.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
