Learning Objectives

English is the world's most hybrid language. It's  make up crosses many languages and cultural broders and has become a "global" language. Due to this eclectic capacity, English has a fundamentak role in advertising and marketing.

The course will briefly examine its  word formation, leading to an analysis of the language of advertising and marketing with its wordplay, attention seeking devices,figurative language and special forms.

By the end of the course students should have:

A knowledge and understanding of the make up of English as used

in advertising and marketing

Should be able to apply this knowledge to business situations.

Should be able to make judgements and communicate the language learnt

Should have the necessarylearning skilld to understand, listen,read and write typical business  situations.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Lettori and collaboratori will hold group tutorage to help and develope linguistic competences in a corporate context.

Assessment

Written and oral exams in English.

The oral exan(Monografico) will be based on the Taylor notes, text book( to be chosen later)and the introductory of Mailing-Internet Business Writing.

Due to the large number of students the test will be written.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Notes

The course will be taught entirely in Emglish. The final exams and bibliography are in English.
