Learning Objectives

To be able to talk and write about the main literary themes, periods, and genres (e.g. Transcendentalism, confessional poetry, minimalism, etc.) and make textual and cultural analysis

Program

Poetry from the 17th century to the present time

with a focus on native American poetry, Edgar Lee Masters, and a short seminar on South American poetry

In order to attend the course, it is necessary to have a basic knowledge of Anglo-American literature and culture.

Discuss controversial issues in Italian and English

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
