Learning Objectives
The classes will focus mainly on linguistic structures bigger than a word and smaller than a sentence. In particular it will treat idiomatic expressions and syntagmas. The differences between these units do not regard that much the grammatical structure, but the level of meaning. An expression like Geld in die Hand nehmen, infact, means to spend money and semanticaly it is very differnet from ein Blatt in die Hand nehmen. During the lessons we will try to describe and explain those differences in German analysing different semantic and syntactic aspects of the language.
