This course is taught partially in Italian and partially in a foreign language. Study materials can be provided in the foreign language and the final exam can be taken in the foreign language.

Learning Objectives

The course aims at preparing the future teacher of Chinese language and culture, providing the metalinguistic and methodological knowledge for teaching the Chinese language. 

Program

Lesson programme: 

basic elements of Chinese linguistics; methodology of  teaching Chinese as a foreign language; teaching materials and programs for teaching Chinese in Italy; national and international reference documents for the teaching of Chinese language.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding: students will acquire a good understanding of the essential aspects of Chinese as second and foreing language teaching.

Applying knowledge and understanding: students will have the abilitiesto use the linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge to analyse teaching methods and techniques.

Making judgements: students will acquire the critical ability to judge their language productions with regard to linguistic and pragmatic appropriateness.

Communication skills: students will be able to make language choices appropriated to teaching and learnig contexts.

Learning skills:  students will possess the methodological skills to develop and consolidate their learning experiences in autonomous and collaborative way.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Supporting Activities

The course will include teaching practice lessons held by a mother tongue lecturer. Reading, writing and practice in conversation lessons will be conducted by Chinese lectorsThe attendance to these lessons is highly recommended.

The final grade has two components:

Oral test (reading, translation and comment) written test (translation and essay). 

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
