Learning Objectives

Provide the basis to frame the contribution that environmental geology has in territorial planning and planning, in relation to interventions of anthropic transformation, protection and enhancement of the environment and landscape, according to sustainability criteria, based on the reference regulatory framework.

Program

Introduction to geological-environmental programming and planning with sustainability criteria. Regulatory references: DPR 328/2001, VIA, law LL. PP., soil defense from L.183/89 to PAI, Flood Directive, 2000/60/CE, D.Lgs 42/2004, L.68/2015 environmental damage.

Basics of geomorphology applied to rivers and slopes. The hydrographic basin and hydrological processes. The hydrogeological instability, criteria for the arrangement of the slopes and waterways. Risk prevention and reduction. The hydrogeological and environmental arrangement of the territory in adaptation to the CC. Flood defense, structural and non-structural interventions. Planning of mitigation, requalification, protection and environmental enhancement interventions. Naturalistic engineering works to reduce and mitigate impacts. Landscape, land consumption, geo-risks and georesources. Sector plans and programs: River Contracts CdF, PAI, PTA, PTC, PRG, PGRA Flood Risk Management Plans, PPC emergency planning, REM, SDGs2030 sustainable development goals in adaptation to CC and Integral Ecology.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding. The student must demonstrate the knowledge of the topics presented, even in the context of their relations with other disciplines of the Earth Sciences.

Applying knowledge and understanding. The student must be able to correctly use the acquired knowledge, demonstrating the ability to collect and processing field geological data.

Making judgements. The student must demonstrate its ability to reason, following the logic of the teaching. In particular he must be able to plan a study and evaluation activity on geological-environmental issues. Moreover he must have the ability to deduce useful information from cartography and tools accompanying plans and programs.

Communication skills. The student must show that he is able to describe clearly and with an appropriate language the acquired knowledge.

Learning skills. The student must demonstrate the ability to develop an individual growth path by integrating the didactic material provided with other specific material defined also on the basis of indications from the teacher.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
