Learning Objectives

The course aims to achieve the following objectives:

-analyzing the multicultural context of educational environments and their mutations

-knowing the theoretical framework of intercultural pedagogy

-acquiring a critical look on communication in relation to diversity;

-knowing the nature of negotiation in conflict situations;

-acquiring intervention competencies and strategies of cultural mediation;

-acquiring tools to meet the needs of social reality through the cultural shocks method;

-changing theoretical knowledge acquired into educational practice.

Program

The course program aims to deepen the role of pedagogy of cultural mediation within the theoretical framework of reference.

The course will address the following topics:

- social changes and pedagogy, critical approach to educational issues in complex contexts;

- intercultural communication, interactional approach and confrontation with diversity;

- intercultural negotiation, cultural mediation and intervention strategies within training courses;

- methodology of cultural shocks and practical tools to overcome conflicts and obstacles that disturb the intercultural educational relationship.

In relation to what has been said here above, we will analyze paths to overcome conflicts and empower differences / oneness, through mediation and negotiation practices.
