Learning Objectives

The purpose of this course is to enhance the student’s knowledge of different aspects that comprise the exercise science research process and the way in which research can be applied in physical activity, exercise, sport, and rehabilitation contexts. The course is designed to provide students with focused lessons on topics that may be considered particularly relevant to this field, which include (but are not limited to): literature review, study design, ethical and governance issues in research, data collection and analysis techniques, carrying out research in different social and cultural settings and with subjects of different ages, applying findings to practice, disseminating effectively research findings, etc.

The course will be delivered either through lectures or seminars, each focused on a particular aspect of the exercise science research process. When appropriate, the lecturer will draw on studies that utilized empirical data collection as well as review-based research to exemplify the theoretical contents of the course.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
