The course is finalized to examine the problems encountered and the strategies adopted to obtain a new drug. Program
1. Drug discovery and development: an overview
2. CNS drug discovery: From the discovery of safinamide to the current research paradigm
3. Critical analysis of the errors reported in scientific articles of pharmaceutical interest
4. The Covid-19 pandemic: causes, social impact, preventive interventions and pharmacological treatments
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
At the end of the formative activity related to the discipline, the student is supposed to know and understand the problems related to drug discovery and development. Through the expertise acquired, the student will be able to develop critical skills, independence of judgment and communication skills that allow him/her to produce reasoning on the topics covered.

Lessons will be developed through general information and the analysis of studies published in scientific journals/reports relevant to the topic of the course, and the participation of field experts, which will pass on their specific experience to the students.
- Course books
There are no textbooks but the material for the study is the one uploaded to the Moodle platform.
- Assessment
Verification of learning will be carried out through a structured test with multiple choice and true/false quizzes.
