Learning Objectives
The internship aims to introduce the mechanics of locomotion on the bicycle, notions necessary in both sports and re-education.
Program
Mechanics of on-bike locomotion: Forces resistant to advancement (aerodynamic resistance, gravitational strength, friction of mechanical transmission components); Acting forces (Functional to advancement; F. effective, ineffective) Transmission mechanisms. Fundamental parameters and tests used in practice (Torque Analysis; Maximum Power Test; RPM Power Ratio) Pedaling efficiency indices (symmetry, 'roundness'). Notes on the intervention of the various muscle groups in the active phases. The position on the vehicle
Bridging Courses
General training theory
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
They are able to apply their knowledge and understanding in a way that demonstrates a professional approach to their work, and have adequate skills both to devise and support arguments and to solve problems in their field of operation.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
Lectures alternating with practice on cycle ergometers.
- Attendance
Minimum mandatory attendance: 2/3 of total practice lessons. As to the practical activities attendance is intended as the active participation to the lesson..
- Assessment
Report certifying the understanding of the topics covered. In particular -know how to define the basic principles of the correct position on the vehicle - elaborate and comment on the torque profile of a subject tested in the laboratory.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
