Learning Objectives

Identification of the activity of the master woodworkers who were dedicated to the making of inlays and the production of carved frames, to enable identification of the techniques adopted so that restorations can be planned.

Program

Survey of the activity of inlayers and carvers in both the making of inlays and carved elements with in-depth study of the artists/craftsmen employed, the organization of work within workshops in the Marche region between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Bridging Courses

Knowledge of Marche art history between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

At the end of the course the student must have achieved the ability to relate the study of wooden material, both carved and sculpted and also inlaid, with the style of the work, with historiography and philological reading in order to have a complete vision of the object to be able to operate on it in full awareness.

Assessment

Oral examination in the learning of the materials made available, ability to contextualise the topics in relation to the geographical areas of the Marche and the Faber Lignaminis workshops, the relationships between the various artists.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
