Learning Objectives

The discipline aims to provide the main conceptual, theoretical and methodological references necessary for understanding the psychological and relational dynamics that develop in a group, focusing on a perspective that examines the individual and social interaction in its fundamental aspects . Therefore, the analysis of the dynamic processes and emotional experiences that occur in a group will constitute an object of study, assuming the theoretical and applicative position of humanistic and existential psychology, and in particular, of the meeting group proposed by Carl Rogers, and by other reference authors such as Thomas Gordon and Irvin Yalom. The deepening of the epistemic and methodological field of the group dimension will be achieved through the narration of stories and clinical events, which in its experiential implications will constitute a resource for reflection and classroom discussion of the most recent research in dynamic psychology.

Program

PART I (14 hours): the first part will cover the theoretical-applicative concepts useful for the investigation of group psychology, and for the analysis of group dynamics. Ample space will be given to the conceptions of Rogers, Maslow, Gordon and Yalom, as essential references for analyzing the dynamisms of psychic and relational, individual and group life.

PART II (14 hours): the second part will present the constitutive characteristics of the group both as an influence on psychic and emotional activities and as a training process. The dynamic phenomena of group life will be investigated, as well as the various types of setting and use of the group in different fields: from clinics to psychotherapy, from training to rehabilitation work, from institutional therapy to prevention, etc.), signaling their theoretical position and application also through reports and clinical and training examples. The skills to manage and facilitate group processes will also be deepened.

PART III (8 hours): the third part will be dedicated to the exploration of intrapsychic dynamics and relationality in contemporary psychology: the internalization of relationships in the family, social and cultural spheres. The person as a subjectivity inserted in social and relational processes will be studied.
