Learning Objectives
The aim of the course is the description and explanation of the linguistic constants of the colloquial register through the analysis of different types of written and oral texts, in order to arrive at a pragmalinguistic characterization of colloquial Spanish.
Program
-The definition of the registers in the field of varieties.
-Manifestation of records: orality and writing.
-Expressiveness in colloquial Spanish.
-The colloquial register.
-The conversation: main characteristic features.
-The importance of context in colloquial Spanish.
-Analysis of phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical-semantic levels.
-Representations of orality in writing and writing in orality.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course students will be able to recognize the main characteristics of the Spanish colloquial register.
Applied knowledge and understanding: students will be able to read and understand materials, both written and audio, corresponding to level C1 of the Single European Reference Framework. They will also be able to apply the concepts acquired to the analysis and description of Spanish and its varieties. Starting from the theoretical concepts acquired during the course, they will be able to evaluate the relationship between the use of linguistic forms and the communicative effects produced.
Autonomy of judgment: students will be able to evaluate the adequacy and correctness of sentences in Spanish in concrete communicative situations, also recognizing the type of register of the same.
Communication skills: students will master the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) at the C1 language level of the Single European Reference Framework. This objective will be pursued through language exercises.
Ability to learn: students will have the opportunity to apply the linguistic knowledge learned and practiced in the readership, integrating them with the technical terminology and formal analysis methods acquired during the course.

- Assessment
The method of assessment relating to the monographic course will be written. This is a written work, which can be made up of both open-ended questions and multiple-choice questions relating to the content of the course and the analysis of various types of textual fragments that are characterized by the use of the colloquial register. Not only formal and content correctness will be assessed, but also the mastery of the methodological tools used (references to the study material). The student must also demonstrate that they have reached the expected level of linguistic competence at the exit for the reference year, as indicated in the Vademecum.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
