Learning Objectives

The object of this course is to study literary Models and Paradigms in “European literature”, examining which have been the ideological, historical and cultural interferences that have promoted or undermined this concept.

Program

Contents:

 Romance Philology in Textual Criticism.

Phenomenology of literature: epic poetry, lyric poetry, romance poetry.

  

                

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Objectives (Dublin descriptors):

Students have to demonstrate a knowledge in historical and comparative perspectives of the cultural and literary structure of France, Spain and Italy in the passage from Antiquity to the Middle Ages, to the Modern Age.

Students are required to be able to apply their knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments, within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.

Teaching

Frontal lectures and seminars.

Innovative teaching methods

Report to be discussed in the classroom.  Lectures organised with the participation of students who will produce material for discussion. Innovative teaching modes: flipped lessons.

Course books

Texts: attending students are expected to read and understand the recommended bibliography uploaded to Moodle by the Professor.

Otherwise, to obtain a French, Spanish or English bibliography please contact the professor during office hours. 

Assessment

Written or verbal examination in Italian.

Verbal examination in a foreign language (French, Spanish or English).

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Non attending students are expected to read and understand:  A. Negri, Personnages de l'Europe littéraire: Maugis Malagigi, Berlin, Peter Lang, 2023 and P. Beltrami, Filologia romanza, Bologna Il Mulino.

Verbal examination in Italian Language.
