Learning Objectives
The course aims to create a philological and linguistic sensitivity to the literary text. The course is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the linguistics of the text, especially on the means that guarantee the cohesion and coherence of a literary text. The practical part includes reading, understanding and textual analysis of some fragments taken from works by Russian authors of the 19th century. XIX and XX. A very limited theoretical and practical reflection is planned on the transliteration systems from Russian to Italian and on the related uses.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Ability to understand and describe the main textual typologies on a linguistic level: opisanie, povestvovanie and rassuždenie“ (description, story, commentary).
Ability to apply the knowledge of textual linguistics to the analysis of authentic literary texts, selected for the current academic year, analyzing the linguistic peculiarities of the story in monological and dialogic form.
Ability to analyze the structure of a text and to critically formulate judgments on the argumentative strategies adopted by the author.
Conscious use of some notions of simple and complex sentence syntax (Level B2) in written composition and conversation.

- Assessment
Oral exam, written exam and language test.
The final exam will assess metalinguistic knowledge and language skills in Russian at the requisite level. In particular, assessment will concern the following skills: written (33% of all marks), oral (33%), and metalinguistic knowledge (33%).
The exam on metalinguistics (“monographic course”) is a written test. It consists of 30 multiple choice questions in Italian, principally to assess the knowledge acquired and also applied comprehension skills. The use of dictionaries is not pernitted during this test. Criteria for the assessment of this test are:
- pertinence and correctness of answers in relation to contents of program.
- ability to apply knowledge to specific cases
- ability to reflect critically on concepts and processes
- knowledge of the metalanguage
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
