Learning Objectives
The university course aims to provide useful knowledge to actively participate in the promotion, organisation and management of social services. Starting from the knowledge of both national and Marche Region regulations governing social services, the implementation rules of some types of social services will be addressed in depth. Subsequently, students will also be involved through testimonies and guided tours, allowing them to experience organisational and management practice. Occupational psychology topics fundamental to understanding the problems and dynamics of social service management will be analysed.
Program
Starting from an analysis of the historical and legislative development of social services in Italy and the Marche region, particular attention will be paid to the organisation and management of the most important social services for the elderly, minors, disabled and mentally disabled, as well as to some issues related to work psychology useful in the management of social services. The teaching will address the following topics
- analysis of national and regional legislation on social services - no. 2 hours
- social and health services for minors - 4 hours
- social and health services for the disabled - 4 hours
- social and health services for the elderly - 4 hours
- social and health services for the mentally disabled - 4 hours
- work motivation - n. 2 hours
- Leadership - 2 hours
- group work - n. 2 hours
- Psychology of health and illness - n. 2 hours
-Non-technical and soft skills - n. 4 hours
- Stress, burnout, mobbing - n. 4 hours
- Communication with fragile users - 2 hours

With regard to the subject matter, the student must demonstrate:
Mastery of national and regional legislation on social services
Knowledge of social services in the areas of interest concerning the elderly, minors, the disabled and mental disabilities
Knowledge of the care, educational and rehabilitation needs of social service users
Knowledge of the dynamics of frail/family/service users
Capacity to plan social services
Knowledge of the main areas of interest concerning work psychology for social services, work motivation, leadership, teamwork, stress, burnout, mobbing, communication, relationship with death.
The student must participate in the management of a social service, understand the problems related to fragile users, involve the family and have knowledge of the main dynamics of group work and the psychological difficulties that caring relationships can entail
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
Supporting Activities
Classroom exercises (also with experts in the subject) and, if possible, guided visits to social services will be organised. within the number of hours foreseen

The assessment criteria used for the tests are:
- relevance and effectiveness of the answers in relation to the programme content;
- level of articulation of the answer;
- appropriateness of the disciplinary language used.
Oral examination. conducting of in itinere tests to check comprehension of the topics covered
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
