Learning Objectives
The main purpose of the social psychology course is to introduce students to the understanding of the socio-psychological processes of knowledge, representation and action in the social reality underlying the relationships between individuals and groups, as well as to read events in a social key. historians and phenomena of contemporary society. A fundamental way to achieve this goal concerns the acquisition of the appropriate language to explain these processes, which goes beyond the linguistic code used by common sense, to explain the social phenomena in which people play the role of observers or protagonists.
Classical and contemporary social phenomena will be analyzed, such as migration, deviance, terrorism, new media, equal opportunities, etc. through examples in class and thanks to the theoretical reflection of the volume “La society re-thought” and the new textbook indicated.
During the lessons of the second semester 2019-20 and 2020-21, the social dynamics in the Coronavirus emergency (social influence, stereotypes, aggression, prosocial behavior, etc.) were analyzed with particular attention and through group work. The in-depth topics and examples will also be taken up in the next course.
