Learning Objectives
The teaching course aims to educate students to the knowledge of the components of physical fitness and well-being and their role in the prevention of pathologies in children, adults and the elderly, referring to scientific evidence and best practice evoked by experimental studies.
Program
The student will be gradually brought to the knowledge of the principles of physical activity with particular reference to the planning and structuring of a short and long-term intervention under particular conditions. Particular emphasis will be given to the development of critical thinking and the solution of movement problems, from prevention to the correction. The components and characteristics of physical activity will be treated developing a flexible approach to students to increase workloads, their monitoring and consequent regulation. The theoretical lessons will illustrate the biomechanical and physiological dynamics underlying physical activity and in particular:
1) Components of physical fitness and well-being (endurance, strength, flexibility, coordination).
2) Characteristics of physical exercise: intensity, duration, mode.
3) Exercise and cardiorespiratory function
4) Exercise and muscle function
5) Kinetic chains
6) Role of physical exercise for prevention and physical firtness in developmental, adult and elderly age
7) Role of physical exercise in the conservative treatment of degenerative osteo-articular pathologies, metabolic diseases and obesity
8) Posture: definition, prevention and postural rehabilitation techniques
9) Physical activity adapted in athletic training and in the post-rehabilitation phase
10) Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the state of well-being and physical fitness.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
At the end of the study path, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired:
- Knowledge and understanding Knowledge of the use of physical activity programs such as prevention and compensation of particular pathologies. The characteristics of physical exercise (intensity, duration, modality), their evaluation and their integration with the motor activity adapted in the physical preparation and in the post rehabilitation phase.
- applying knowledge and understanding The student will be called to produce, in itinere, physical exercise programming projects in written form, with oral presentation, also through systems on online platforms.
- Making judgments Through the oral presentation and the formulation of physical activity program designs, the student will have to motivate the choice of his behavioral hypotheses.
- Communication skills During the presentation phase, the student is called to demonstrate mastery of the sectoral languages and the multimedia presentation methods of the physical activity projects implemented.
- Learning skills. Through the previous components, the student is called to highlight his autonomously developed acquisition and connection skills.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
