Learning Objectives
The course aims to help students deepen their knowledge of the Latin language through reading and commenting on Virgil's Bucolics.
Program
The course will propose a large anthology of Bucolics whose passages will be read and commented on from a grammatical, syntactic and stylistic point of view. In-depth studies on the Latin poetic language before and after Virgil are planned.

In order to assimilate the topics of the course it will be necessary to have at least a basic level of knowledge of the Latin language.
Attendance of at least 2/3 of the lessons for students who intend to take the exam as attending students.

- Assessment
Written and oral test. There is a written test for each exam session, after which there will be access to the oral test to be taken in an exam of the student's free choice.
Written test. The written test will not constitute a barrier to access to the oral test, but will serve to verify the student's actual knowledge of the Latin language, as scheduled, with an evaluation that will affect 10/30 of the final grade (the remaining 20/30 will be attributed by the oral test, see below). The test will last 4 hours and will consist of questions on the morphology and syntax of the Latin language and the translation of a short passage taken from the work of an author of Latin literature, with the aid of the dictionary. The written test will ensure possession of the following skills: knowing how to recognize the main morphological and syntactic functions of the Latin language and knowing how to translate basic level Latin texts, prepared from time to time by the examination commission. Samples of the test will be made available on the blended.
Oral test. The oral exam will focus on the linguistic aspect. Students will have to demonstrate that they know how to translate and comment, from a grammatical and syntactic point of view, on the text in the programme (see 'Course books'). The oral test will account for 20/30 of the final evaluation.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
