Learning Objectives

The course aims to:

1. provide basic knowledge relating to the structuring of cultural organizations and their reference context;

2. provide knowledge of the general principles and technical tools of Project Management in the cultural field;

3. provide the methodological tools to develope the project of a cultural event from the conception to the presentation of a final draft.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Students must achieve:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the functioning mechanisms of cultural organizations, of the general principles of Cultural Project Management and of the methodologies to be applied in the planning of a cultural event.
1.1. Students achieve this knowledge by attending lectures and studying teaching material as well as study texts.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding through the ability to develop a cultural event from concept to presentation of the project.
2.1. Students achieve these skills through moments of group workshop exercises aimed at the realization of an original project of cultural event.
3. Ability to judge and critically reflect on project dynamics in relation to the reference environmental contexts and the starting needs that are the basis of the project activity.
3.1. This judgment capacity must be applied in classroom discussions with the teacher, during the development phases of the project and in the preparation of the final presentation of the project.
4. Communication skills: students are asked to interact in the classroom through questions, exchanges with fellow students, writing short presentations.
4.1. Skills that are practiced in the classroom with the organization of moments of discussion and exercises.
5. Learning skills: students are required to adopt a critical learning method capable of connecting theoretical skills and empirical analysis, orienting themselves towards the specification of autonomous thinking.
5.1. Ability to be strengthened thanks to the argument with the teacher and classmates.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Attendance

The Workshop provides a mix of lectures, discussion sessions and small group activities, so regular participation in daily classroom work plays a significant role in learning process success (students are required to attend a minimum of 75% lessons hours).

Assessment

The course gives a final grade/judgment of Suitability/unsuitability

The exam will be held through an individual interview based on the project developed during the  workshop activity. The aim is to evaluate both students’ comprehension of the content and his ability in reworking concepts and in argumenting.

Suitability assessment will be given in presence of: a good critical perspective and in depth study; a relatively good critical perspective and connection skills related to the treated topics; the use of an appropriate language.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Additional Information for Non-Attending Students

Course books

In order to give non-attending students the opportunity to compensate for what is taught during the lectures by means of independent study, the following materials referring to the same syllabus content are provided in order to promote full understanding:
