Learning Objectives

The aim of the course is to acquire mastery of the methods and techniques of social work, thus promoting the acquisition of the professional self and awareness of professional action within a defined theoretical corpus and professional mandate.

Know the phases and contents of the methodological process, know the main tools and reference models

Program

The program aims to make known the various reference models of the social service and the methodological process in its various phases

Learning of the process and of the helping relationship through the use of the basic methodological procedure, tools and professional techniques: the helping relationship, the social and individual planning, the interview, the home visit, the documentation of what it is and how it is done compile. The delicate transition from orality to writing will be tackled. The relationship and the social folder: essential elements and objectives

Learning of the operational practices of the Professional Social Service in the various areas of intervention and their knowledge

Analysis of clinical cases and discussion

Professional social work and social complexity. The team: rules and characteristics

The student will have to show possession of the basic knowledge relating to the professional action of the social worker who directs his action through precise theoretical models from which the methodologies of the help process derive.

The student will have to know all the professional tools and techniques.

The student will have to know all the areas of intervention of the professional social service.

The student will have to demonstrate knowledge on a theoretical level of how the professional social work operates in the social complexity and which strategies and tools can be used to deal with the management of individual aid projects.

At the end of the course the student should be able to know the main documentation of the social service and how to write and what are the essential elements. You will have to know how to do a social interview and transcribe it correctly in the folder

Teaching

During the lessons, in addition to the theoretical part, carried out in the form of a frontal lesson, role playing exercises will be done which will involve all the students.

Short films on specific topics and open discussions will be screened

There will be both individual and group work

Some lessons will be carried out alongside staff who are experts in specific sectors

Attendance

Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended

Assessment

Written test for all students. The exam will be made up of closed answers (3 answers of which only 1 is correct), each answer will be given a score based on the importance of the question which will be written next to the question. The scores are 4; 3; 2; 1 There will be 11 questions and the total score is 32 which corresponds to honours. From 32 the relative score of each wrong or unanswered question is deducted. the time is 15 minutes. Prescriptions will be guaranteed for those entitled. Concept maps must be sent at least a week in advance for checking.

The teacher reserves the right to award up to two more points if the student has always attended and actively participated in the lessons

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
