Learning Objectives
The doctoral student learns to illustrate and argue the salient contents and original contributions of his/her research work in a concise but adequately problematic manner to an audience of experts in English for discussion and debate.
Program
The programme includes an initial meeting for a general presentation of the work and method, in which each doctoral student proposes a research topic suitable for presentation in English. Subsequently, the doctoral candidates will be received individually for the precise articulation of the paper, the argumentative construction and the writing of the text in English. At the end of the course, the paper is presented at the PhD Day in the presence of the members (including foreigners) of the PhD faculty, and advanced PhD students can present their paper at PhD International Conference or other international discussion occasions.
Bridging Courses
It is recommended that doctoral and post-doctoral students attend the English language course offered as part of the structured training programme of the Doctorate in Humanistic Studies.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
