Learning Objectives

The internship path allows the student to achieve, in addition to the knowledge of sports technique derived mainly from practice on the field, the awareness of the importance of explanation to students through direct execution of the technique and, mainly, the acquisition of mastery of execution technique of the discipline such as to allow correct demonstration to students.

Program

- Review of basic preparation to establish entry level

- Correlation between athletic preparation and technical preparation

- Learning taxonomies

- Taxonomic analysis of athletes from under 13 to under 15 in basketball as a transversal example of differentiation of work by age

- Professional work monitoring: the MAS, systematic use

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The student must show the possession of in-depth knowledge related to:

the current epistemological structure of the discipline with particular reference to its constituent elements (methodologies and problems) and to the relationships with other connected disciplines, such as physiology and psychology; adequate knowledge of advanced technologies dedicated to the discipline and knowledge of performance analysis and of the basic mathematical-statistical principles aimed at the adequate development of scientific field work projects.

- The student must show an understanding of the concepts and theories provided by the course; will have to provide examples of transposition in projects founded both in a methodological and didactic sense and in a formative sense;

- The student must be able, in particular, to identify methodological and didactic methodologies for adaptation and adaptation appropriate to the work context; simulate the design of specific work plans; to outline some hypotheses of intervention in the face of variegated revision issues.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Supporting Activities

Visits will be carried out at the Serie A basketball club, for a direct view of the real possibilities of working with students of different ages.

Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment

Teaching

Practical lessons in the field. Observation of professional training sessions via streaming where this is not possible in the presence of important sports organisations.

Innovative teaching methods

In the practical part, the student will be invited to take on the role of teacher, both with reference to sports training and school lessons, for a realistic immersion in their future work.

In random moments, the student is asked to self-evaluate during a "knowledge check", to independently realize any parts with gaps in his preparation which up to that point have been free from grading problems.

Attendance

The student must attend 65% of the lessons.

Course books

Basic text:

  • "Taxonomy of motor and sports training. Systematic, methodological, didactic and technical-tactical indications for youth sports at different ages. The example of basketball", Riccardo E. Izzo, Edizioni NonSoloFitness, Bologna 2021. The student, for the theoretical part , will have to study chapters 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 13 and in the latter only the part dedicated to the categories U-13, U-14 and U-15, first band will be required.

Teaching material of the lessons, and text such as:

  • "Technique today, communicating with the ball" CESI, Rome, 1996, also in the form of a handout or notes thereof if it were not available or out of stock.
Assessment

Ongoing preparation of written reports assigned by the teacher and regarding the construction of training in youth basketball.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Notes

It is suggested to study the material offered on blended learning on the topic in depth.
