Themes
Movement and Health Beyond Care, MoviS: an educational approach to exercise, nutrition and motivational goal in oncology.
The summer school MOVEMENT AND HEALTH BEYOND CARE, MoviS is a training course for health and exercise professionals. The course is based on scientific evidence relating to the onco-preventive and onco-protective effects of physical exercise in terms of physical, psychological, and social benefits. In particular, exercise helps to improve physical functionality and quality of life, also reducing chronic fatigue often related to such diseases.
A healthy diet associated with an active lifestyle is now an essential tool for the prevention, management, and treatment of many oncological diseases. Lifestyle changes can be an adjunct to their care.
The course aims to promote an integrative approach to exercise, nutritional and motivational interventions as adjuvant support of oncological therapies.
Particular focus will be given to:
- Therapeutic diagnostic pathway and modifiable tumor risk factors.
- Clinical-functional setting. Anthropometry, body composition, and nutritional measures.
- Recommendations for nutrition and cancer prevention.
- Exercise prescription in degenerative conditions and exercise protocols for primary and secondary breast cancer prevention.
Motivational aspect and translational evidence in exercise oncology.
