Learning Objectives

The Master in Environmental Geology and Land Management, offered by the School of Geological and Environmental Sciences of the Department of Pure and Applied Sciences, aims to train experts in the territory's study, management and development, addressing environmental challenges with robust scientific and technical expertise. The course is open to students holding a bachelor's in class L-34 or those who meet the admission requirements.
The course holds two curricula:
Geotechnologies, Territory and Environment, which deepens knowledge of applied hydrogeology and geothermal, applied geophysics and seismic microzonation, digital geological survey, geostatistics, and mitigation of water and hydrogeological risk;
Earth, Climate and Environment System focuses on characterising and managing contaminated sites, climatology, biomonitoring, and impacts of climatic variability.

Students develop skills in various strategic areas, such as applied geology, geomorphological analysis, advanced technologies, spatial design and management in a sustainability and economic development framework, and assessing the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic actions with an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. The course includes theoretical and practical activities, student-centred projects, workshops, and direct contact with the world of work.
Graduates can work in both the public and private sectors, in research, consultancy, and management of projects related to the territory, as well as in roles of responsibility and control. The title gives access to the PhD and the State Examination for the profession of Geologist (Section A). The course promotes international mobility through the Erasmus+ programme and encourages contact with companies and institutions, helping students to develop professional and cross-functional skills.
