The course aims at helping students read the plays in their multifaceted aspects as - at the same time - displays of political problems (and solutions), of gender and of theatrical issues. Professor Mullini will be joined by Dr. Maria Elisa Montironi, who will specifically deal with Coriolanus at the beginning of the course. If possible, cinematic versions of the tragedies (Coriolanus, 2011, and Cesare deve morire, 2012) will be shown during classes.

The course will be held in English.

Dr. Maria Elisa Montironi will join professor Mullini, especially for seminars introducingof the issues connected to Coriolanus.

Excerpts from the films mentioned above will be shown during classes.
