CONTROL AND PREPARATION OF PHARMACEUTICALS Module

Preparation and quality controls of the following galenic formulations:
- Oral and topical powders
- Capsules
- Solutions
- Syrups
- Emulsions/suspensions
- Unguent
- Pastes
- Creams
- Gels
- Rectal and vaginal suppository

In order to attend the practical course, it is compulsory to have passed the following exams: Chimica farmaceutica e tossicologica I, Metodi Fisici in Chimica Organica and to have attended the following classes: Analisi dei farmaci III e degli alimenti e Laboratorio di preparazione estrattiva e sintesi dei farmaci

tHE COURSE OF PREPARATION AND CONTROL OF PHARMACEUTICALS DEALS WITH THE CONCEPT OF "FORMULATION". THE LEARNING OUTCOMES AND THE COMPETENCES TO BE ACQUIRED ARE: 
- THE UNDERSTANDING OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PRINCIPLES APPLIED TO THE PREPARATION OF PHARMACEUTICALS; - THE APPLICATION OF PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY, THROUGH THE USE OF INSTRUMENTATION AND LABORATORY TECHIQUES; - THE PREPARATION OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS ON A LABORATORY SCALE AND THEIR QUALITY CONTROL ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEGISLATION; - THE PHARMACEUTICAL LEGISLATION AND REGOLATORY ASPECTS INVOLVED IN THE PREPARATION OF GALENIC PRODUCTS

PRACTICAL EXAM, WHERE A GALENIC FORMULATION NEEDS TO BE PREPARED
