Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide the students with the necessary means to identify and understand the features of the monumental categories in Greece and Rome.
Program
During classes the lecturer will show images and research material in order to provide the means to recognize the essential features of greek and roman monumental categories. In the second semester the course will examine in depth the roman civil architecture.
Ordinary classes will be completed by seminars about Vitruvius and his treaty “De Architectura”. Students will read and analyze chosen passages with the help of PhD student Laura Invernizzi (doctoral candidate in “Studi Vitruviani” at Univpm).
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
The students will deepen the personal knowledge of the main civil monuments of greek and roman ages and will increase the methodological background of the discipline and its scientific language.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
Supporting Activities
Seminars and educational journeys will be planned with students.
The teaching material will be available in the library of the Ex Istituto di Archeologia. The lecturer will also provide additional research material during the lessons.

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
