Learning Objectives
Knowledge of the history of the book in the early church, the importance of books for the formation and spread of Christian culture.
Program
Following the developments in the history of Christianity, we will study the highlights of the dissemination and preservation of books and texts: the ancient libraries and philology Hellenistic; early Christian texts; transition from the roll to the code; books in the fourth century; Latin Middle Ages; Carolingian Renaissance; manuscripts to the press. Particular attention will be devoted to the literary genres of ancient Christian writings, their luck, the influences or sustained over time.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Thorough understanding of the historical and cultural roots of early Christianity, the interaction with literary and philosophical culture of Judaism and Hellenism. Knowledge of methods of training, dissemination and transmission of books and texts in the first centuries of Christianity.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
