Learning Objectives
The classes will offer a wide theoretical background, using also a socio-historical perspective, on the specific languages used by TV. The main goal is to offer a comprehensive scenario of the multi-faceted television studies in all their shades and research objects. This main goal is paired by a more specific aim, that is to say the audience analysis in the fragmented and complex contemporary context in which television contents remain the focus of the media consumption of contemporary global audiences. The in-depth analysis of audiences will be linked to the OTT scenario and to the social viewing practices regarding fictional contents. In this sense the analysis of Italiana and international TV series will be privileged. In fact, this multi faceted approach is thought as particularly useful for the future professionals in the communication field, for defininig the strategies of media planning, for analysing the targeted publics and for pruducing tailored contents.
